The Never-Fading Poppy Project (NFPP) is a student-led, not-for-profit organization founded in 2020 in Lexington, MA. Our mission is to honor and support local veterans through art, spreading messages of gratitude and appreciation with handmade cards and community-driven projects.
Our Reach: What started in Lexington has grown beyond Massachusetts, with NFPP branches now established in California, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida.
Card-Making Initiatives: NFPP organizes card-making events during four major holidays (MLK Day, Patriot’s Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day) where participants create personalized cards filled with messages of appreciation. Additionally, we welcome year-round contributions of general thank-you cards, which are distributed to veterans throughout the year.
Community Events:
Memorial Day Poppy Memorial: Each year, NFPP hosts workshops to create a large-scale poppy memorial in the heart of Lexington, featuring over 2,000 handmade paper poppies.
Card Distribution: NFPP organizes visits to the Bedford VA, where volunteers personally deliver handmade cards to veterans.
Parades & Public Engagement: NFPP members participate in annual parades, including the Lexington Veterans Day Parade.
